How a grocery retail network ended its wait for daily sales and stock numbers

This grocery retail network ran on a capable ERP that could not give leadership a daily read across sales, stock, suppliers and stores. We built a reporting layer on top of it, so the business could see daily sales and inventory across the whole network without waiting.

Challenge

A capable ERP, but no daily operational picture of sales, stock, suppliers and stores.

What we built

A reporting layer on top of the existing ERP, no replacement.

Result

Daily sales and inventory across the network, down to store and supplier.

The challenge

The network ran on a capable ERP, but it could not turn that data into a daily operational picture. Leadership wanted to see sales, stock, suppliers, stores and distribution flows every day, and instead waited on reports that lagged behind the business.

What we built

  • Built a reporting layer on top of the existing ERP, without replacing it.
  • Delivered daily views of sales, stock, suppliers, stores and distribution, with price analysis and ABC/XYZ.
  • Trained the teams who use it, so the reporting stuck instead of sitting unused.

Reporting

Daily sales
Stock & inventory
Supplier & store analytics

The outcome

Leadership got a daily read on the network instead of a lagging monthly one, with store and supplier performance visible down to the detail. Decisions on stock and pricing could be made on current numbers rather than last month’s.

Still waiting on yesterday’s sales and stock numbers?

If your ERP cannot give you a daily operational read, we can build a reporting layer on top of it for daily sales, stock and store analytics.
